Moldova Beer

Moldova beer is defined by a strong lager tradition, large-scale domestic production, and a smaller craft segment that has begun to diversify the country’s beer profile. The mainstream identity still leans heavily on pale lagers, with Chișinău Blondă and the Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery representing the mass-market core of Moldovan beer. At the same time, breweries such as Litra Brewing Company in Chișinău have helped introduce a more modern craft layer built around IPA, wheat beer, and other styles beyond the traditional industrial base. That combination gives Moldova a beer identity rooted in accessible everyday lagers but no longer limited to them. Rather than being defined by one world-famous historic style, Moldovan beer is shaped by the overlap between established domestic brands and an emerging urban craft scene. As a result, beer from Moldova reflects a country balancing familiar brewing staples with a gradual push toward broader style diversity.
